Plans
and conducts an effective child development program
to meet the physical, social, emotional and intellectual
needs of each child based on program goals, objectives
and philosophy.
Plans
and implements daily schedules and actvity plans and
leads other employees to follow them. Arranges room
and play materials to accommodate daily schedule.
Helps
create adult-made games and play materials such as mixing
paint, play dough and assembling props for drama play
activities.
Receives
children from parents, noting all special instruction
that may be given and informing co-workers.
Creates
a pleasant, inviting atmosphere for children. Ensures
the safety and sanitation of children through constant
supervision, effective arrangement of space, proper
maintenance of equipment.
Participates
in training sessions, staff meetings and parent conferences
and plans a parent involvement program with other lead
teachers.
Interacts
with children during programmed activities. Uses approved
child guidance and caregiving techniques.
Serves
as a leader to teacher aides, with responsibility for
the overall operation of the classroom in accordance
with applicable guidelines. Demonstrates proper supervision
and work methods, providing work-related guidance to
staff.
